The Taraba Prime Japanese Restaurant renovation project in Bangkok transformed an existing building on Soi Sukhumvit 20 into an authentic Japanese culinary space, while preserving its original architectural value. Completed in 2024, this building, designed by พล จุลเสวก , is an early example of Modern Architecture in Thailand. As the first house on Soi Sukhumvit 20, located in a highly competitive business district, the project holds significant economic and architectural value.
The owners opted against demolishing the old structure, instead preserving its original form and revealing its historical traces through careful conservation methods. This aimed to revitalize the building. The design team created a luxurious, comfortable modern ambiance infused with a humble oriental spirit. The chosen color palette, inspired by cooked lobster and king crab shells, combined with warm lighting, enhances the dining experience. The interior emphasizes simplicity and order through proportionate spatial arrangements, aligning with Japanese aesthetics of repetition. This meticulous approach blends tradition with modern luxury.
